How Can We Help You?

Diagnostic X-Ray & Ultrasound Imaging

An accurate diagnosis is essential for creating an effective treatment plan. We use state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, including digital x-rays and ultrasound imaging, to examine bones, ligaments, tendons, and tissues of the feet and ankles. These tools allow us to evaluate problem areas and to fully understand the underlying causes of your symptoms. We then fully explain and discuss the findings with you.

Biomechanical & Gait Evaluation

During a biomechanical evaluation, we start by discussing your health history and activity level. We then perform static and dynamic tests, meaning examinations in which you are standing still and moving. These tests enable us to observe abnormalities and range of motion issues. We will also perform a gait evaluation during which we take note of how you walk and how the mechanical function of your feet is contributing to any symptoms or conditions you are experiencing. We use proven evaluation techniques combined with diagnostic tools to help us determine mechanical abnormalities and to make accurate diagnoses.

Foot & Ankle Surgery

We perform surgery when more conservative treatments have been ineffective. Some conditions and injuries can only be resolved with surgical intervention. Dr. Barton is highly experienced in performing foot and ankle surgery, including:
● Bone Surgery
● Joint Surgery
● Tendon Surgery
● Nerve Surgery
● Surgical Removal of Soft Tissue Masses and Tumors
● Skin and Nail Surgery

Diabetic Foot Care

If you are diabetic, your feet are at risk for serious wounds and infections. Diabetes reduces nerve sensitivity, which means you may not realize you have a wound that needs to be addressed until it becomes infected. Diabetes also reduces blood flow in the feet, making it harder for infections, wounds and injuries to heal. We highly recommend diabetics of all ages, including children, seek care from a podiatrist on a regular basis. We treat diabetic wounds, ulcers, infections and conditions related to diabetic neuropathy and circulatory disorders.

Sports Medicine

Injuries to the foot and ankle are common for athletes. We treat many athletic patients who have sprains, fractures, tendonitis, arch and heel pain, Achilles tendon issues and more. Treatment may be surgical or nonsurgical, depending on the severity of the condition. Our goal is to provide you with effective, compassionate care so you can get back on your feet and back to the active lifestyle you love.

Orthotic Therapy

Orthotics are supportive devices that are placed inside of your shoes to realign the position of your feet and to control abnormal motion of your feet and ankles when you are standing, walking and running. Orthotics can help relieve chronic pain conditions such as arch and heel pain, tendonitis and shin splints. These devices can also reduce painful symptoms caused by deformities, such as bunions and flat feet. We utilize state-of-the-art 3D digital imaging technology to produce accurate foot images which are used to create custom orthotics for our patients as a highly effective nonsurgical, noninvasive treatment method.
